Meet The Founder: Coach Hannah Myrie

Hi I'm Coach Hannah!  The heart and soul behind iSwim Cayman + Safety School. Growing up in the stunning Cayman Islands, my connection with the ocean and swimming started as early as I can remember. This passion led me to represent our islands at the CARIFTA games as a national swimmer, a journey that deepened my love for the water and introduced me to my calling: teaching swimming.

By the age of 12, I was already volunteering as a coach at the Lions Pool Swim School, where I discovered the immense joy and fulfillment that comes from teaching children to swim. My academic and professional journey continued locally at UCCI, where I pursued my studies while simultaneously gaining a wealth of experience in teaching, coaching, and earning several prestigious swimming certifications.

With more than a decade of experience, including my time at Lions Pool and The Treasure Island Swim School, I launched iSwim Cayman in 2016.

Our vision was clear from the start: to offer mobile swim lessons and create unforgettable swim camps across the Cayman Islands, bringing the joy of swimming to as many people as possible.

My approach to coaching is rooted in intensity and focus on skill development, balanced with warmth, encouragement, and a personalized touch that fosters strong bonds with my students. Our lessons are designed not just to teach swimming but to build confidence, self-esteem, and resilience in our students, equipping them with skills that extend far beyond the water.

My passion lies in teaching swimmers of all ages, from the youngest learners to adults. There's an indescribable joy in witnessing the transformation and growth in each of my students. It's a privilege to play a part in their journey, imparting a vital life skill and making a lasting impact on their lives. Through iSwim Cayman, I strive to share this passion and the transformative power of swimming with as many people as I can. Join us, and let's dive into this beautiful journey together!

Coach Tracey

I have taught all ages from babies and parents to adults from complete beginners to pre competition, I have taught a small amount of disabled swimmers but not many, I have also helped swimmers who have suffered

strokes to help them get a bit more movement and freedom in the water.

When I was 11 my swim teacher said that my butterfly was good enough for me to be in a swimming squad, so I moved to our local club where I competed in c grade galas, unfortunately I never won a race but came veryclose, when I turned 16 I changed clubs, we only competed in club galas rather than against other clubs. I do miss competing and would live to get back in to it, my love for swimming has helped me to help other people to come to love the sport as much as I do.

I will go out of my way to help the swimmer feel comfortable and safe in the water always and help them to get to where they would like to be, whether that is just not being afraid of the water or to a stage where they could join a club and compete the best they can. If I have difficulty with a swimmer I will see if I can find different ways to teach them and always accept ideas form other teachers which could help the swimmer. I am always willing to learn to more and improve my teaching ability so I can deliver the best lessonplan for the swimmers whatever age and ability they may be.
